What is real Strength?

fibromyalgiaproblems:

Strength isn’t being tough, or resilient, or even brave. To be strong is to be able to hold fast to what you believe in and who you are, or who you want to be. Strength is standing up for and staying with what you know is worth fighting for, no matter what anyone else will say or do.

Kind of funny in a fucked up way. I was looking at the Mankoski Pain scale since I heard it mentioned recently to see where I would fall.
Which is, if anyone doesn’t know and is curious

0 - Pain Free     1 - Very minor annoyance - occasional minor twinges. No medication needed.     2 - Minor Annoyance - occasional strong twinges. No medication needed.     3 - Annoying enough to be distracting. Mild painkillers take care of it. (Aspirin, Ibuprofen.)     4 - Can be ignored if you are really involved in your work, but still distracting. Mild painkillers remove pain for 3-4 hours.     5 - Can’t be ignored for more than 30 minutes. Mild painkillers ameliorate pain for 3-4 hours.     6 - Can’t be ignored for any length of time, but you can still go to work and participate in social activities. Stronger painkillers (Codeine, narcotics) reduce pain for 3-4 hours.     7 - Makes it difficult to concentrate, interferes with sleep. You can still function with effort. Stronger painkillers are only partially effective.     8 - Physical activity severely limited. You can read and converse with effort. Nausea and dizziness set in as factors of pain.     9 - Unable to speak. Crying out or moaning uncontrollably - near delirium.     10 - Unconscious. Pain makes you pass out.

So going by just the part which describes the pain, My average which I was previously assuming to be maybe 4, is actually 6-7. 4 is a “good day” when I can actually go out and get things done (maybe every 2 weeks on average) and then spiking up to the 8-9 level with worse pain.
This is funny because the  they list what painkillers you give for said pain and apparently 6 warrants vicodin and codeine. I had to fight for about a month and a half to get a Triptan type pill for the 8-9 spiked migraine pain and have absolutely nothing for everyday pain that is at 6-7. I wondered why over the counter pain pills were so fucking useless, apparently I graduated past them helping years ago.

THIS IS THE PAIN SCALE!Haha I’ve always been stressed about the pain scale, i mean what is a 10? The most pain you can imagine feeling? The most pain I’ve ever felt? Because I’ve never given birth or been shot and I imagine those are pretty bad.. but i like this. So my pain ranges from 2-4, But is usually 7-8 during flares, has never been a 10? I do wish I could remember what 0 is even like though…

I’m about a 5-6 normally and I’ve never been given painkillers. Not even in the hospital. 7-8 during flares of TMJD or Fibro, where I usually just roll around and cry. Still never been given real painkillers. Apparently I’m too young to feel pain like I do. I cannot remember having 1, 2, or 3.
